When I was 21 years old, fresh out of college, and watched Reality Bites the first time, I was all dreamy on Ethan Hawke’s character. But after three years of re-watching the movie and meeting a lot of pa-brooding guys, I decided I wanted the Ben Stiller character - the sellout channel head who is sure of who he is and what he wants and has accepted that life is a compromise.
