Who Will Take Care Of Me
A Film for the Children of Marawi
The 2017 battle of Marawi claimed the lives of hundreds of Filipino soldiers who fought for our freedom. Now that they have sacrificed their lives for us, who will take care of their children?
Ayala Land and the Hero Foundation, an organization that helps the children of fallen soldiers finish school, created an animated film to share the plight of our soldiers’ orphans. The short film follows the story of an orphaned owl in search for hope and family. As he meets different animals in the forest, he asks them, “Who will take care of me?”
The film was designed as a story for children to appeal to kids and their parents, those who could best empathize with the cause and donate to the foundation. Through gritty animation and the use of animals, it told the story of these orphans in a new way. In the end, hundreds of those who watched the film decided to take care of them.
